About: Tourism Community Beach Clean at Dunollie Castle Beach on Thursday 5th September 2024
As part of the ASSC’s commitment to supporting local communities and protecting Scotland’s natural environment, we are also organising a tourism community beach clean on Thursday, 5th September, at 11:00 am. This initiative, led by the charity The GRAB Trust, aims to tackle the growing issue of marine litter, which poses serious threats to our seas, shorelines, and marine life. The event is open to all, and we encourage members of the Argyll tourism community to join us in this important effort.
ASSC Chief Executive, Fiona Campbell comments:
“The ASSC is committed to responsible tourism, fostering positive relationships with the communities in which our members operate, and protecting Scotland’s environment.
We will be putting our ASSC Regional Gathering themes of community and collaboration into practice through our tourism community beach clean at Dunollie Castle Beach. Marine litter is such a blight on our wonderful natural environment so the ASSC is delighted to partner with the GRAB Trust charity to support this initiative.”
Why Join the Beach Clean?
Marine litter is not only unsightly but also dangerous, causing significant harm to marine ecosystems both in and out of the water. By participating in this beach clean, you’ll be helping to protect Scotland’s beautiful coastline and the diverse marine life that calls it home. GRAB will provide all necessary equipment, making it easy for everyone to get involved.
Event Details:
There is parking available at the castle and the Kettle Garden Cafe at the Dunollie Castle will be open all day.
We warmly invite you to join Team ASSC for this important community event. Let’s come together to make a positive impact and demonstrate our shared commitment to preserving Scotland’s incredible natural environment.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect with fellow tourism professionals and make a real difference in protecting our coastlines. Join us for the Regional Gathering on the 4th and the beach clean on the 5th—your participation matters!
