Properties

This page shows the control panel for each of your properties.  This is where you would go to view or edit your property details.  If you have more than one property, make sure you click on the links in the relevant control panel to edit the details of the one you want.

Availability and Property Details

At the top of the control panel box there is a red ‘Update your Availability and Property Details’ link.  Use this to update your availability on the ASSC calendar system if you are NOT using the WBE or a full SuperControl account.  The first time you do this you will need to set up your properties on the system. After this you will be taken to the page where you can enter or edit your availability.  WBE and SuperControl users do updates by logging into their SuperControl account.

Price and Facilities

Your prices and available facilities details are managed in partnership with SuperControl.

If you use the ASSC Availability Calendar only (don’t take online bookings via EmbraceScotland)

• Go to “Your account > Properties” in the Members’ Area
• Click the red “Update your Availability and Property Details” text link in the top right of the control panel
• Click on the “Property details” button to update the facilities (you still use the “Availability” button to change availability).

If you use the ASSC WBE or are a full SuperControl client

• Login to your SuperControl account at https://secure.supercontrol.co.uk
• Follow the menus  to “Integrations > Channel Manager > Regional” and select ASSC
• You can then tick the facilities that apply to each of your properties.  Then click save at the bottom.
• For these memebrs all pricing and availability is synchronised automatically

Main Details

View or edit property address, closest town, website address, contact name and address, and property location.  To edit the location, right click on the Google map exactly where you would like the new location to be and the pointer will automatically move to this new location.  Make sure you select ‘update’ at the bottom of the page to save any changes.

Descriptions

View or edit the short and long descriptions for your property listing.  The number in the ‘Character Limit’ box below the box you are typing in will tell you how many characters of the allowed limit are remaining.  Click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page when you are done.

Image Gallery

You can add an enticing and attractive gallery of images using the ‘Add Images’ button – they really sell properties!

Click the ‘Add Images’ button to upload images (you can select more than one at a time). Allowed file types are “jpg”, “jpeg”, “gif” and “png”.

The ideal image size is 800 x 600 pixels.  Click here to see what that looks like.  This would typically be 60Kb.

The minimum image size should be 600 x 400 pixels. Click here to see what that looks like.  This would typically be around 35Kb.

The maximum file size that can be uploaded is 5Mb.  If you have larger images, you can use online resources such as WebResizer or Picresize to resize them to an appropriate size.

Click on an image thumbnail to see a larger view.  Remove images by clicking on the green ‘Remove Image’ link above the image.  The first image in the gallery will be used as the main property image.  To reorder the images, simply drag and drop them using your mouse.

Video

If you have a video of your property you can upload it to your property page by pasting the embed code into the box, and clicking ‘update’.  There is Guidance Sheet on how to do this in the Information section.

Health Warning!

Displaying video on a user’s computer can be fraught with difficulty, most of which is to do with their computer, their browser, their settings and their safety, antivirus and privacy controls.  ASSC cannot guarantee that your video will display properly on any or all destination/user systems.  Please do not complain to us if you or a user has difficulties in viewing the video, as it is very unlikely that we will be able to do anything about it!  However, if any Member has ideas or suggestions for improving this feature of the website, these would be most welcome.

Code Embedding Abuse Sanction

This feature is provided by the ASSC specifically and only to allow Members to display short videos promoting their ASSC Member with Marketing property(ies).  Any other use of the Embed Code box or feature will be considered a violation of the conditions of membership and may lead to the immediate suspension of membership and removal of the website entry.  Any Member using the feature thereby expressly agrees to indemnify the ASSC for any damage caused or consequential loss sustained by the ASSC as a result of the code uploaded by the Member to the ASSC websites.

Enquiries

The number in brackets beside ‘Enquiries’ in your control panel box shows you how many enquiries you have had from the EmbraceScotland website.  When you open Enquiries, you will see a box with the date, and name and email address of the person who has made the enquiry.  Click ‘View’ for further details.

Late Availability

You can have one late availability offer live on the website for each of your property pages.  You can create a late availability offer by clicking on the green ‘Add New Availability’ link, filling in the details and clicking ‘save’.   Or you can choose an offer from your drafts and make it live by selecting ‘Live’ on the left of the offer title.  You can also select ‘No offers currently live’.

Special Offers

If you want to create a Seasonal Offer, click on the green ‘Add New Offer’ link.  Fill in the details, and if you do not want  it to go live on the EmbraceScotland website, select the tick box to set it to draft.  It will then show on the main box with ‘(Draft)’ in red below the title.  If you do not select the tick box, the offer will go live on the website.

Reviews Embed

To display a link to your online reviews in the search results boxes on EmbraceScotland (marked 2 on the right) you need to select the relevant name of the review scheme you are with, and insert the actual URL of your page of reviews in the box below.

Statistics 

Choose a start and end date, and click ‘search’ to view statistics for your EmbraceScotland property listing.  Statistics include clicks on email link, displays in search, page views, redirects to your website, and clicks from Signposted Property feature.
